The Basil in my garden is doing so well that I can steal from it all summer long.
There are many pestos available on the supermarket shelves, but nothing compares to the taste and aroma of homemade pesto.

Here is a fresh & healthy pesto recipe that is quick and simple to make.
It will add so much flavour to so many dishes. My recipe is slighly different as I add toasted walnuts in place of pine nuts. It has a warm nutty flavor.

Basil Pesto


2 cups fresh basil, tightly packed
¼ cup parmesan cheese
½ cup olive oil
3 garlic cloves minced
dash of salt
3 tablespoons toasted walnuts


Place all ingredients into a food processor or blender.

Add walnuts last to allow for a crunchy texture.
